J'adore Dior

Charlize

Self assured and successful, without sacrificing one drop of sensuality, Charlize Theron is the incamation of Dior in the new J’adore opus.
She is goddess amongst legends: contemporary, blending harmony and character, she is one of the few stars today who can rekindle the golden age of Hollywood. Through this absolute feminity, she is woman, as celebrated by J’adore.

“No Dior: No Dietrich”
This tit for tat phrase that Marlene Dietrich snapped at the boss of Warner studios has become famous around the world. For when Marlene agreed in 1950 to star in Alfred Hitchcock’s Stage Freight, it was on the express condition that her wardrobe be made exclusively by Christian Dior, Whether on screen or off, Marlene was the most fervent star in Dior.

Grace

January 6, 1956, the Waldorf Astoria, New York,. A glowing Grace Kelly chose to celebrate her engagement in a white satin dress by Christian Dior. Three months later, one of the most beautiful princesses inn Hollywood was poised to marry rainier III of Monaco, and preparing to bring stars to our eyes through a fairytale come true. Blessed with inimitable elegance throughout her life, Princess Grace made Dior her Couture house of preference.

Fetish Falls

Excuse me, but when did wild sex come back in style? - Stanford Blatch

Whips and Flails and leather clad females is what comes to my mind when I look through several shows from Fall 2011.

Bondage Fashion!
These two words are the single trickiest two words in the fashion dictionary. Immediately my mind gets occupied by cheap PVC thigh high boots, corsetry made in china and plastic wigs from ebay! But think again.

You don’t necessarily see paddles and collars in Hakaan or reigns and shackles in Heider Ackerman, which you would see in a typical bondage armoury. It all depends on what you think ‘Bondage’ is??
Restraint. Not restraint in just a kinky way, but in a sense of authority, austerity and the elegance of refusal. Something you assume to be a comparatively dark desire which you are anxious not to judge or dare to ask.
Or it could be that moment when you think ‘Dare I? but what would people think?’

The Original...

Aggy looks breathtaking in this Photoshoot by my favourite Menswear designer, Hedi Slimane for Man About Town Magazine.

For Me, apart from David Bowie, she is the original Agrogynous beauty.

Sorry for the long absence guys. Been so busy with uni work and work events.
But I promise I'll be on here full time soon.

I will leave you with this for the time being

Le pouvoir des fleurs

So I am sick of colour blocking.

I want to throw up on it.

It's everywhere and it is so in, it's OUT!!!

So I have decided not to follow trends this season as personal style trumps all over trends.

But I am feeling the floral trend so I have designed this to get it printed on a Tshirt for myself.

A dash of rock n roll a hint of Tim Burton and a sprinkle of Lucifer and there you shall find Julien MacDonald’s fall 2011 winter collection.
Time to embrace his infernal majesty in MacDonald’s immortal underworld this season. What’s not to be missed about the Gothic glad creations is the sex and glamour behind the grunge, the cobweb like lace dresses poking under the designers signature knitwear makes the MacDonald girl half rock chick and half call girl.
The colour palette a mix of dark smoky grey and dusty charcoals sets the perfect graveyard backdrop.
Needing inspiration? Think The Cure, Edward Scizzorhands and Sleepy Hollow....The Devil is in the details.

Bye!!

Run Kate, RUN!!!

During a London Fashion Week dinner for Topshop, Kate Moss announced her wedding gown will be designed by the Creative Director of Christian Dior Couture (and his own label), the great John Galliano.

The video above from the 90s, shows just how close John and Kate are.
I read an interview with John and he said when he was starting out he would pay the models with dresses as he had no money. And when he got to the top he needed an archive of his designs and he didn't have any because he gave them all away and Kate contacted him and gave him all his dresses back that John had given to her over the years.
He also always wears a cross around his neck which Kate gave to him in Paris.

This is Fashion Royalty for me.

That friendship reminds me a little too much of this friendship :)
